Job Description



The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for supporting large scale projects and overseeing end-to-end projects, technical workflows and change management in the areas of Operations & Technology.

This is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for managing projects from conceptual stage to launch/execution that includes setting & establishing timelines, milestones, deliverables, budget, and reporting updates to the project team and management
  • Responsible for overall project tracking, creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, planning and reporting, and acting as a liaison between project teams to ensure proper coordination
  • Collaborates with leadership to ensure all operational, production, and technical requirements are defined, documented, and protected throughout transitions
  • Responsible for defining, streamlining, and implementing new workflows and processes across all departments of Operations & Technology
  • Develops technical schematics and presentations to aid in the communication of complex projects and designs
  • Establishes new quality standards and processes, implements tools to improve quality, and constantly measures and monitors the services delivered to internal and external clients
  • Approaches Project Management in a pragmatic way and analyzes workload generated versus positive impact on the project and the organization overall
  • Provides technical expertise and identifies solutions to help resolve issues
  • Works closely with operational partners and manages client-facing communications regarding change management
  • Assists with the implementation of project management governance program by implementing best practices and defining standards as appropriate
  • Provides technical and operational expertise to support Telemundo organizations and productions
  • Works under the direct supervision of Director, SPM and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed

Qualifications



Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Film/TV production, or related field preferred and a minimum 5 year technical and operational experience in large scale media environment (Broadcast, TV, News and information, Live Entertainment, Post-Production); or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Operational background with experience in some of the following fields: post-production, production operations, live entertainment programming, studios, digital technologies, post-production, and virtual productions
  • Demonstrated success managing complex engineering projects and change management efforts in a bilingual (English and Spanish) and multicultural environment, with the ability to define, communicate and implement the strategic direction of the business
  • Experience leading cross-disciplinary, cross-functional projects to drive business process change affecting multiple business units such us Scripted, News, Entertainment, Sports or Special Events
  • Proven success leading teams, bridging communication gaps between technical and non-technical groups
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Smartsheets, MS Project, Visio, Lucid Chart, SharePoint, and Jira
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, along with expertise in macros and VBScript for automation and workflow optimization
  • Fluency in English (both written & verbal) and basic understanding of Spanish

  • PMP Certification strongly preferred 
  • LEAN/CAP training and experience preferred
  • Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt Certification preferred 
  • Exceptional communication, time management, analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to effectively summarize status and communicate with Senior Leadership
  • Self-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office for a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
  • Must be willing to work in Miami, Florida
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license 
  • Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
