Job Summary
The Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a part-time after school facilitator in our Amped4Making after-school STEM program in Moreno Valley, CA and in Perris, CA, starting in January 2025. Through this program, we develop students’ mathematical skills and identities, while co-designing this new program including students’ and facilitators’ input and ideas. We are seeking an after-school leader with a deep commitment to creating opportunities for Latinx youth and an excitement around new program design and ongoing collaboration and learning. After school sessions will take place four days per week for 1-1.5 hours a session. The facilitator will also be paid for 2-3 hours of prep time per week.

Education And Experience

HS Diploma required, college-level coursework or degree preferred
Experience working with students in grades 6-8
Experience facilitating lessons for a group of 15-20 students with strong classroom management
Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom or enrichment setting
Experience and/or affinity with mathematics or STEM preferred
In progress or completed California Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or emergency teaching credential is a bonus

Required Qualifications And Desired Characteristics

Ability to learn quickly and try new instructional practices
Ability to use judgment to change course on the spot, adjusting lesson plans to reach desired outcomes
Open to feedback and collaboration with a team of colleagues
Strong classroom management
Strong and energetic communicator
Quickly able to build strong relationships and rapport with students in an afterschool setting
Applicants must be available to teach during afternoon hours (1:00-4:30pm) one-two days per week
Personifies the social justice ideals espoused by Cesar Chavez and embodies the Si Se Puede! Attitude fueling the Farmworker Movement
Must complete FBI/DOJ livescan in California

LOCATION
Fresno

Compensation Range
Hourly rate; $25-$40 depending upon experience

6-10 Hours per week
