Microwave Power Amplifier Test Technician
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour | Location: Cypress, CA
A day in the lab
You start your morning in the Cypress lab, bringing X-, Ku-, and Ka-band power amplifiers to life. One unit needs a careful tune; another calls for a full bench validation with the spectrum analyzer and VNA. After lunch, you finesse open chip semiconductor devices under the microscope, apply bonding materials with precision, then run a final performance sweep to hand off a design from development into initial production. That’s your rhythm here.
What you’ll do
- Tune and test RF/microwave power amplifiers across X, Ku, and Ka bands.
- Handle, tune, and evaluate open chip semiconductor devices with microscope-level precision.
- Execute bench testing for a variety of RF/microwave products from early development through introduction to production (NPI).
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on RF test experience.
- Working knowledge of IPC 610 and MIL-STD-883, -750, -1580.
- Proficiency with lab gear: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and related instruments.
- Experience with epoxies and bonding materials; confident working under a microscope.
- Familiarity with production tools: reflow and curing ovens, pick-and-place, DAP furnace, and cleaning processes.
