The Assistant CFO reports to the Chief Financial Officer and partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer, service line administrators, and senior leadership to align financial operations with strategic goals. Leaders of Revenue Cycle, Admitting, Business Office, Health Information Management/Medical Records, and Utilization Review report to the Assistant Chief Financial Officer, who also collaborates with Supply Chain, Case Management, IT, Compliance, and Physician Leadership to get the job done. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer typically brings a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, five or more years of healthcare finance experience, two or more years in revenue cycle departments, and oral and written fluency in English.
The Assistant CFO oversees a multifaceted finance and revenue cycle portfolio that includes charge master governance, reimbursement integrity, admitting/registration operations, utilization review alignment, and business office performance. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer will thrive in a high-energy, supportive, and professional environment that values accuracy, agility, and collaboration with clinical, operational, and physician partners. Advanced analytics and enterprise EHR/ERP tools support the Assistant Chief Financial Officer in driving measurable results and process improvement.
The Assistant CFO supports the planning of new services by contributing financial expertise that identifies additional sources of profitable revenue, while directing Revenue Cycle, Admitting, Business Office, Medical Records, and Utilization Review, including oversight of charge master maintenance. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer analyzes market trends and financial performance to reduce operating costs, enhance reimbursement, develop and implement revenue enhancement programs, prepare weekly projections, and manage financial systems and processes, all while collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries and upholding core values. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer mentors leaders and teams, advances education and competencies, and drives continuous quality, compliance, and process optimization—performing other duties as assigned to meet evolving needs.
